PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device capable of grasping in real time whether a user is sensed by a human-sensing (thermal) sensor. SOLUTION: A television receiver 10 includes: the human-sensing (thermal) sensor 52; and at least either one of a video display control unit 111 and an audio output unit 112, which immediately presents to the user information showing whether presence of the user is recognized within the detection range of the human-sensing (thermal) sensor 52 on the basis of a signal output from the human-sensing (thermal) sensor 52, when operating the television receiver 10 by an operation confirmation mode for performing an operation confirmation of the human-sensing (thermal) sensor 52.
