摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide titanium oxide particles that are composed of Ti<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, and turned into nanoparticles more readily than before, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method of production includes preparing silica-covered titanium hydroxide compound particles 12 with the combination of a reverse micelle method and a sol-gel method, separating the silica-covered titanium hydroxide compound particles 12 from the mixture solution, washing and drying them, and firing them at a specific temperature in hydrogen having a specific flow rate to obtain titanium oxide particles 3 which are composed of single phase Ti<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and reduced in size unconventionally down to a nanometer size.
