PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container heat treater capable of reducing the amount of water to be supplied to the container heat treater from the outside. SOLUTION: The container heat treater 1 includes: a plurality of water storage tanks 3A-3G which are disposed below a carrying conveyor 2; water spray nozzles 4A-4G which are each disposed above each of the water storage tanks 3A-3G, and are supplied with water from any of the water storage tanks; and a water supply line 8 which supplies water when the amount of the water in the water storage tanks 3A-3G reaches the predetermined amount or below. The container heat treater 1 adjusts the water stored in each water storage tank up to the predetermined temperature by means of heating devices 6A-6D or heat exchangers 7A-7C, and sprinkles the water through any of the water spray nozzles 4A-4G, thus heat-treating a container B carried on the carrying conveyor 2. In the container heat treater 1, the water storage tanks 3A-3G are each provided with overflow pipes 13A-13G which each open at one end at the predetermined height L1 of the side surface of the water storage tank, and each connect to a drain pipe 14 at the other end, and an on-off valve 17 is provided at the outlet of the drain pipe 14.
