<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor, a function retrieval method and program for freely retrieving and using a desired function, whether inside or outside equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The information processor is connected via network to a server that holds components achieving various functions, and enables components to be added thereto, The information processor includes a storage means to store the components included therein; a retrieving means to retrieve the retrieval component as a retrieval target from the storage means and from the server; and a display means to display the retrieval result of the retrieval component. The retrieving means is configured to, when it cannot retrieve the retrieval component from the storage means, further retrieve the retrieval component from the server.
