<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light modulating device having wide bandwidth based on Fably-Perot resonant reflection. <P>SOLUTION: The light modulating device includes: a lower distributed bragg reflector (DBR) layer 110; an upper DBR layer 130 having at least one layer and a deformed layer; and an active layer 120 arranged between the lower DBR layer and the upper DBR layer, wherein at least one layer in the upper DBR layer has at least one pair of a first refractive index layer having a first refractive index and a second refractive index layer having a second refractive index, the deformed layer in the upper DBR layer has at least one pair of a third refractive index layer having a third refractive index and a fourth refractive index layer having a fourth refractive index, the third refractive index is different from the fourth refractive index and at least one of the third and fourth refractive index layers has a second optical thickness different fromλ/4 or odd multiple thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
