Powdered oxides, salts or minerals of elements known to absorb radiation e.g. Co, Ti, Zr, Ni, Cu, Fe, Pb, Cd, B, Li, or graphite are mixed with hydraulic binder and mineralizer and water to give a viscous consistency, kneaded, added to expanded pedite and vermiculite filler, kneaded again, formed, hardened and dried to produce a hard shape.
