<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide type optical interferometer which is inexpensive, having low loss and independent of temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The optical interferometer composed of an optical branch part, a plurality of optical waveguides having different lengths and an optical coupling part is disclosed. In order to equalize the temperature dependency of the optical path lengths of the plurality of the optical waveguides having different lengths, the core widths averaged in the longitudinal direction of the plurality of optical waveguides having different lengths are adjusted to have different values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
