PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a more highly-reliable air conditioner with a simple structure to a user that can prevent water from entering, thereby preserving electric equipment. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit for the air conditioner 1 includes: an opening 2a that inserts an inside and outside connection electric cable 4 that at least connects an inner unit with the outer unit 1; a terminal base 3 that fixes the inside and outside connection electric cable 4; a protection cover 6 that partially protects the inside and outside connection electric cable 4; an electric part cover 7 that covers the opening 2a; and a protrusion in a circumference of the opening that is located at a part inner than an end part of a sidewall 7a of the electric part cover 7 when the electric part cover 7 installed to be fitted to the opening 2a.
