<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly character input device wherein a display space of a prediction conversion candidate displayed according to a character input is effectively utilized and wherein selection of the prediction conversion candidate is facilitated. <P>SOLUTION: The character input device 1 includes: a dictionary DB 5 performed with dictionary registration of a prediction conversion candidate associatively to a character or a character string; character input keys 21 inputting a character or a character string; a prediction conversion candidate extraction part 4 extracting a prediction conversion candidate corresponding to the inputted character or character string from the dictionary DB 5; and a display part 6 displaying the extracted prediction conversion candidate, and displaying the prediction conversion candidate selected from the displayed prediction conversion candidates by the user as input decision characters of the character or the character string inputted by the character input keys 21. The dictionary DB 5 registers the input decision character different from the prediction conversion candidate associatively to the prediction conversion candidate performed with the dictionary registration in the dictionary DB 5, and the display part 6 performs the display different between the prediction conversion candidate and the input decision character based on registration contents of the dictionary DB 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
