OCCUPANT SENSOR AND METHOD FOR SEAT BELT OR OTHER MONITORING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of complexity of identifying many categories for an passenger or occupant to surely use an airbag system.

SOLUTION: A method of monitoring a seat belt or detecting an occupant has: a step of preparing one or more sensor circuits 14 and 16 in which each of the sensor circuits 14 and 16 has at least one antenna and one measuring circuit and performs detection in response to the occupant in a vehicle; a step of preparing a common processor 26 which determines an occupant state as a function of the detection from the sensor circuits 14 and 16; and a step of constituting a communication unit from each of the sensor circuit 14 and 16 to the common processor 26. The common processor 26 can operate using various number of the sensor circuit 14 and 16 and prepares information from the common processor 26 to the sensor circuit 14 and 16.
