PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device having an air cylinder as a driving source and reducing impact at a stroke end by decelerating a piston rod near the stroke end with a simple and compact construction. SOLUTION: As a means for reducing the impact of collision of the piston rod 13 of the air cylinder 12 with the stroke end, a spring 16 is attached by insertion to the piston rod 13 to impart elastic force in a projecting direction to the piston rod 13 within a predetermined range on a retracting direction side of the piston rod 13 in a stroke range of the piston rod 13. The spring 16 is configured so that, in the range in which the spring 16 imparts spring force to the piston rod 13, the length of the spring 16 becomes shorter than the free length even at an end position on an expansion direction of the spring 16 and a contraction amount of the spring 16 becomes smaller than the maximum contraction amount of the spring 16 alone (a contraction amount until becoming a close contact condition between coils) even at an end position on a contraction direction side of the spring 16.
