<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter apparatus which calculates the capacitance of a capacitor by detecting a voltage at charging/discharging by the capacitor and controls an inverter circuit, thereby prevents heat generation by the capacitor when the capacitance drops. <P>SOLUTION: A circuit is provided such that power from a commercial power supply 2 is rectified by a rectifying circuit 3 via a switching unit 5, and is smoothed by a capacitor 4, then is supplied to an inverter circuit 13. The circuit is provided with a discharge circuit 6 and a voltage detecting unit 7 that are disposed in parallel with the capacitor 4. When the inverter circuit 13 is stopped, voltages at both ends of the capacitor 4 are detected when the switching unit 5 is closed and opened, and the capacitance of the capacitor 4 is calculated and a determination on a drop in the capacitance is made. If the capacitance becomes lower than a given value, the inverter circuit 13 is disabled. Hence the inverter apparatus is provided to be capable of easily preventing heat generation due to a ripple current increase when the capacitance of the capacitor drops. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
