<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine configured such that when a primary coil is wound, a pair of winding ends of the primary coil are directly locked to a connector part and damaging of an insulating coating provided to an electric wire constituting the primary coil is effectively suppressed, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil for the internal combustion engine includes: the primary coil 21 and a second coil which are arranged in piles on inner and outer peripheries; a center core 23 which is formed by compression-molding soft magnetic material powder and arranged on the inner peripheral side of the primary coil 21 and secondary coil; and a connector part 3 which is made of a thermoplastic resin and electrically connects the primary coil 21 and secondary coil to the outside. The center core 23 is fitted in a fitting hole 34 formed in the connector part 3. The primary coil 21 is wound around an outer periphery of the center corer 23 united with the connector part 3.
