<p>Disclosed is the use of an immunogenic composition comprising a staphylococcal transporter protein and a staphylococcal regulator of virulence or toxin in the manufacture of a vaccine for treating or preventing a staphylococcal infection. The staphylococcal transporter protein is selected from: Immunodominant ABC transporter, IsdA and IsdB. The staphylococcal regulator of virulence or toxin is selected from: alpha toxin (Hla) or alpha toxin H35R mutant. The immunogenic composition can further comprise a staphylococcal extracellular component selected from: SdrG, laminin receptor, EbhA, EbhB, Elastin binding protein (EbpS), EFB (FIB), SBI, autolysin, ClfA, SdrC, SdrH, Lipase GehD, SasA, FnbA, FnbB, Cna, ClfB, FbpA, Npase, IsaA/PisA, SsA, EPB, SSP-1, SSP-2, HBP Vitronectin binding protein, coagulase and MAP. The vaccine can be used to protect against Staphyloccocus aureus and S. epidermidis.</p> |
