<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert the structure of an XML document having a complex data structure. <P>SOLUTION: Templates for structure conversion are described in a conversion specification XML document 22 in association with a plurality of kinds of records, and associations among the templates are described in conformity with grammar of an XSLT style sheet. When, for example, different kinds of records have a nest structure, a call to a template corresponding to a child record of a certain kind of a record is defined in a template for this record. An XSL conversion part 13 may automatically generate the XSLT style sheet from the conversion specification XML document 22.
