PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an engine from being re-started unintentionally by a driver even if the driver temporarily releases the degree of braking by temporarily weakening the depression of a brake pedal upon the stoppage of the engine by an idling stop by preventing the braking from affecting the engine when the idling stop is completed and the engine is re-started.SOLUTION: The engine is stopped during the traveling and controlled to an idling stop by the idling stop processing means of a control processing part 6 under the conditions that a vehicle speed is equal to or below a predetermined allowable vehicle speed for idling stop and the degree of braking is equal to or higher than a stop determination threshold during the traveling. A threshold for determining the re-start of the engine is changed over to a second re-start determination threshold which is lower than a first re-start determination threshold for only a predetermined period by the re-start threshold set means of the control processing part 6 when the vehicle speed is lowered to a predetermined changeover vehicle speed which is lower than the predetermined allowable vehicle speed. Consequently, even if the driver temporarily releases the degree of braking by weakening the depression of the brake pedal, the engine is not re-started. |
