PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus capable of improving quality of a read image.SOLUTION: Since an upstream-side resist roller is rotated faster than a pre-reading roller in an image reading apparatus, a document to be fed once forms a loop with the pre-reading roller as a front end and is then fed to a reading position. It is detected at a time T1 that a rear end of the document passes through a position of a paper feeding detecting sensor in the vicinity of a paper feeding roller, a rotating speed of the resist roller is gradually decelerated until a time T2 when the front end of the document reaches a post-reading roller, and the loop is canceled gradually until the time T2. In timing of the time T2 when the front end of the document reaches the post-reading roller, the rotation of the resist roller is stopped, and feeding of the next document is started. |
