PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve productivity by efficiently operating a resource during single-sided printing by a continuous paper double-sided printer.SOLUTION: In a continuous paper double-sided printer, during double-sided printing, a printer controller 21 provides image data for odd-numbered and even numbered pages to front surface and back surface image processing apparatuses 27, 28, respectively, and a printing engine 29 concurrently prints an image of an odd-numbered page on the front of continuous paper and forms an image of an even-numbered page different from an even-numbered page subsequent to the odd-numbered page on the back of the continuous paper based on the image data processed by the processing apparatuses 27, 28. In the continuous paper double-sided printer, during single-sided printing, the printer controller 21 provides image data for odd-numbered and even numbered pages to the processing apparatuses 27, 28, but when the image data is provided to one of the processing apparatuses 27, 28, blank page image data or blank page instructions are provided to the other processing apparatus. |
