PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for performing receptor-mediated drug delivery (especially delivery across a blood-brain barrier) and a pharmaceutical composition.SOLUTION: There is provided a compound comprising a megalin binding moiety, such as receptor-associated protein (RAP), conjugated to an agent selected from the group consisting of a therapeutic agent, a diagnostic agent, a marker of a disease of the central nervous system (CNS), a labeled monoclonal antibody which binds a marker of a CNS disorder to be delivered across the blood-brain barrier by transcytosis. In addition, there is provided a method of delivering a pharmaceutical agent into the central nervous system including a step of administering the agent conjugated to a megalin binding moiety.
