PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new bleaching agent containing an extract of a flower of Pueraria lobata.SOLUTION: The bleaching agent and the cosmetic for bleaching contain the extract of the flower of the Pueraria lobata. The extract of the flower of the Pueraria lobata has tyrosinase activity-inhibiting activities and melanin formation-inhibiting activities, and the cosmetic containing the extract becomes the cosmetic for the bleaching, exhibiting excellent bleaching effects. The extract can be added to a food. The extract of the Pueraria lobata includes the extracts obtained by subjecting the flower of the Pueraria lobata, a pulverized product of the flower of the Pueraria lobata, a dried product of the flower of the Pueraria lobata and the powder of the flower of the Pueraria lobata to extraction treatment. The shapes of the extract of the flower of the Pueraria lobata can be any of liquid, paste and powder (sometimes, a case of powder of the essence of the flower of the Pueraria lobata is present) irrespective of the shape of the extract of the flower of the Pueraria lobata.
