PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a durable polarizing plate which can provide a display having a good contrast ratio in a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The polarizing plate having a polarizer layer is provided, and a method for manufacturing the same is also provided which includes: a first step in which the polarizing plate is left to stand for 750 hours in an environment at 85°C; and a second step in which the polarizing plate is left to stand for 48 hours in an environment at a room temperature immediately after the first step. When orthogonal (a) values in the Hunter Lab color space immediately before the start of the first step, immediately after the end of the first step, and immediately after the second step are represented as a1, a2, and a3 respectively to conduct an evaluation test for acquiring these values related to the polarizer layer, ΔX and ΔY satisfy relationship ΔY/ΔX≥0.7, wherein ΔX is a difference between a2 and a1 and ΔY is a difference between a2 and a3. |
