<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with automatic zoom control for retaining a photographer's intended size of an object even when the size of the object changes. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus detects an object in an imaging screen, obtains the size of the detected object, and determines whether the size of the object is stable based on the obtained size of the object. When the size of the object is stable, the imaging apparatus sets a reference size of the object. Then, the imaging apparatus executes an automatic zoom operation by driving a zoom lens for variable power operation so that the obtained size of the object corresponds to the set reference size of the object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
