<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early detect a guide pulley abrasion in a wire saw. <P>SOLUTION: The wire saw cuts off a workpiece 15 such that: a wire 2 is wound around between a plurality of groove rollers 11 through a guide groove 27 of a guide pulley 7; the wire 2 is run, and the workpiece 15 is pressed on the wire 2 between the groove rollers 11. The guide pulley abrasion detection apparatus 19 includes: a controller for pre-setting the number of rotations in a predetermined range of the guide pulley 7 in a predetermined running speed by setting the predetermined running speed of the wire 2 and an initial outer diameter d1 of the guide groove 27 of the guide pulley 7; and a sensor 32 for detecting the number of the guide pulley 7. The wire saw is driven, the number of rotations of the guide pulley 7 when the wire 2 reaches the predetermined running speed, is detected by the sensor 32, and the controller compares this number of rotations with the number of rotations in a predetermined range pre-set in the controller, and determines that the number of rotations of the guide pulley 7 is beyond the predetermined range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
