<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave heating device which can heat a material to be treated uniformly by microwaves while reducing the size and cost, and to provide a microwave heating method. <P>SOLUTION: In a microwave heating device comprising a heating chamber 11 in which a material to be treated 22 is heated, a magnetron 15 which generates microwaves 18, and a voltage application means 16 for applying a voltage to the magnetron 15 in order to generate microwaves 18, the heating chamber 11 is formed as a box surrounded by six outer walls 19a to 19f.
