WHEEL INSPECTION DEVICE AND WHEEL INSPECTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel inspection device and a wheel inspection method that can accurately diagnose bolt fixing conditions without requiring to remove a wheel and can prevent accidental detachment of the wheel.

SOLUTION: A wheel inspection device that inspects fixing conditions in which an automobile wheel is screwed on a wheel hub of a vehicle body by fixing means including wheel bolts and nuts comprises: an impulse hammer 11 that oscillates the nut screwed on the wheel bolt; a time waveform sensor 11a provided on the impulse hammer 11 that detects a time waveform of force generated when the impulse hammer oscillates the nut; distortion level analysis means 12 that analyzes a distortion level of a signal detected by the time waveform sensor 11a; a judging section 13 that determines whether the wheel bolt has been damaged or not based on distortion level characteristics calculated by the distortion level analysis means 12; and a display section 14 that reports a judgement made by the judging section 13.
