The line (12) has two containers (34, 40) with different volumes placed in series with respect to one another. A connection tube (26) is placed between one of the containers and an exhaust unit (18) of an internal combustion engine. A connection duct (42) is arranged between the containers. An exhaust gas outlet pipe (46) is placed on the other container. An attenuation device (48) i.e. Helmholtz resonator, attenuates pressure fluctuations of exhaust gas. The attenuation device is placed between the exhaust unit of the engine and the former container.
