发明名称 ROLLING MILL WORK ROLL ASSEMBLIES
摘要 1298065 Rolling mills; jointing BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION 8 Dec 1969 [10 Dec 1968] 58650/68 Headings B3M and B3V [Also in Division F2] A rolling mill roll assembly includes a roll ring formed with a grooved or flat working surface, the ring being held in position on a hollow driving shaft by tensile stresses induced in the shaft. The shaft, which may be fixed to, or be integral with, a driving spindle, is initially axially stretched by hydraulic pressure to allow the ring to be assembled on the shaft. Removal of the pressure causes the shaft to shrink axially and expand radially, thus holding the ring in position in a stressed condition. The ring may be mounted directly on the shaft, Fig. 4, using spacers 97, 100, or 102, or may be mounted between sleeves 10 and 11, Fig. 1. The sleeves 10 and 11 surround the driving shaft (not shown) and have shaped surfaces co-operating with roll surfaces 32 and 33. Keys 42 are provided between the sleeve 11 and ring 12. The hollow shaft may be threaded into the driving spindle, may have a stepped outer diameter, or may have a nut or an enlarged head at its free end. To help in locating and driving the ring relative to the shaft, keys, knurling, flats or projections may be provided between the parts. The ring may have one or more grooves for rolling rod or bars, or may have a cylindrical surface for rolling strip. The ring is conveniently made from tungsten carbide and is arranged to be readily removed from the shaft.
