<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a communication method having excellent Internet connectivity by a host device and excellent connectivity between host devices. <P>SOLUTION: When a communication device 100 is connected to Internet 104 via a wireless communication network 103, a transmission setting informationon on one communication protocol utilized by the communication device 100 is assigned to a local network 101 used by a host device 102. Accordingly, connection to the Internet by the host device 102 is provided simultaneously with other communications performed by the communication device 100 with the Internet.
