<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing control device properly controlling ignition timing according to an alcohol concentration in fuel. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition timing control device for controlling ignition timing of an engine capable of operating with alcohol blended fuel calculates optimum ignition timing on the basis of information on an operation state and information on the alcohol concentration and controls the ignition timing based on the calculated optimum ignition timing (S106, S107, S111, S112). When the alcohol concentration C in the fuel is determined not to be smaller than a threshold concentration Xc (S105:YES), the device controls the ignition timing based on the optimum ignition timing on a more retarded side than the maximum torque ignition timing at which the output of the engine is maximized when fuel contains no alcohol in the operation state. With this, since the ignition timing is controlled properly according to the operation state of the engine and the alcohol concentration in the fuel, the output of the engine is increased and fuel economy is enhanced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
