PURPOSE: A composition containing Camellia japonica L. flower extract for suppressing obesity is provided to suppress C/EBPalpha and PPAR gamma activation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for suppressing obesity contains Camellia japonica L. flower extract as an active ingredient. The extract is isolated using how water, or low alcohol of C2-4 at 80-105°C for 0.5-24 hours. A health food for suppressing obesity contains the extract as an active ingredient. The extract is contains in 0.01-50 wt%(based on solid powder).
