The device (1) has lateral blocking elements fixed on sides of a staircase and formed of individual cleats (4) that are arranged on sides and made of light and resistant material. Each cleat is associated to a step of the staircase. The cleat comprises a stop surface turned upward when the cleat is fixed to the staircase to support a grip bar (3). A support unit includes a guiding rail (2) parallely extended to a slope of the staircase and defines a guiding path for an end of the bar so as to allow a user to slide the bar in the rail during ascending and descending the staircase.
