<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system capable of configuring a suitable setting for each product even when a destination or a store is different for each product. <P>SOLUTION: A manufacturer's internal server 1 receives a serial number of a BD player, and transmits the received serial number to an SCM server 40. The SCM server 40 checks a management table using the serial number, and transmits information (distribution information) indicating which destination or which store is gone through for each BD player to be set up at a user's house to the manufacturer's internal server 1. The manufacturer's internal server 1 transmits a flag for configuring the suitable setting for each BD player depending on the checked management table. Each BD player changes the setting of an own device depending on the received flag.
