PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image feature amount generation device capable of generating image feature amount that is less affected by the background.

SOLUTION: An image feature amount generation device according to the present invention is provided with an input unit 101 that inputs an image, and a feature point and scale of the specified image; an edge calculation unit 102 that calculates the edge of the input image; an area setting unit 103 that rotates the image in the edge direction that is calculated by the edge calculation unit 102 and sets blocks that calculate the statistics of an image area putting the feature point as the center; an image statistics calculation unit 104 that calculates the statistics of the image from the individual blocks set by the area setting unit 103; and an output unit 105 that generates image feature amount by coupling the statistics of the blocks calculated by the image statistics calculation unit 104.
