The method involves defining predetermined threshold for a section. A control unit (26) i.e. flowmeter, is placed on a level of the section, where the control unit controls the threshold and includes a flow reduction valve (30) to occupy passing state without any restriction and a weak conducting state. States of the valve are modified, where a switch is passed from the weak conducting state when the control unit detects that the predetermined threshold is reached. Flow of water is stopped if a user does not react to state change in predetermined duration. An independent claim is also included for a Device for implementation of the method for managing and monitoring a section of a water supply system, comprising a valve.
