PURPOSE: A compressor for a vehicle is provided to reduce the weight of the compressor by manufacturing a part of the compressor where requires mechanical strength using an aluminum or steel material and the other part using a magnesium alloy. CONSTITUTION: A compressor for a vehicle comprises a front housing(100), a rear housing, and a cylinder block. A pulley shaft(110), in which a pulley is installed, is formed in the front of the front housing. A lug is formed outside the rear housing. The cylinder block is located between the front and rear housings. The front and rear housings, the cylinder block, and the pulley are manufactured using a magnesium alloy, and a sliding unit and/or a coupling unit of the compressor is manufactured using an aluminum, aluminum alloy, or steel material. |
