PURPOSE: Laminating apparatus and method for electrode plates are provided to accurately laminate an insulating tape to an active material layer coated to a current collecting member in a constant pattern, and an uncoated unit. CONSTITUTION: A laminating apparatus for electrode plates(10) comprises the following: an unwinding unit releasing the electrode plates patterned with an active material layer; a laminating unit(300) laminating an insulating tape after detecting the end unit of the active material layer for setting the laminating position of the insulating tape; an examination unit detecting the location of the insulating tape; winding unit for winding the electrode plates transferred from the examination unit; and a controller controlling the location of the examination unit and the laminating unit.
