DEVICE AND METHOD FOR INPUTTING KOREAN CHARACTERS ON TOUCHSCREEN BASED UPON CONSONANT-VOWEL CONVERSION, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A device and method for inputting Korean letters on a touch screen based on consonant-vowel conversion are provided to remarkably reduce an input error which is generated in a narrow display environment by selectively converting the active area of input key according to a basic rule of Korean alphabet based on consonant and vowel. CONSTITUTION: A storage(B10) stores the consonant and vowel of Korean alphabet. A display unit(B20) displays a Korean alphabet keyboard including input keys of the vowel and consonant of the Korea alphabet. An input unit(B30) detects a touch input from consonant and vowel of the displayed Korean alphabet. If the inputted consonant is an initial sound consonant, a controller(B40) activates a vowel input key which can be combined to the initial sound consonant. The controller inactivates a consonant input key according to the activation of the vowel input key. If the collection input key is activated, the input area of the collection input key is expanded and the input area of the consonant input key is reduced.
