ANTIBIOTIC-PRODUCING MICROORGANISM AND ANTIBIOTIC PRODUCED BY THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new microorganism producible of an antibiotic; to provide a new microorganism to be used in a method for producing the antibiotic; and especially to provide a new microorganism producible of a new antibiotic effective against multidrug-resistant bacteria, showing effectiveness at least against both MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and VRE (vancomycin-resistant enterococci).

SOLUTION: The microorganism is a microorganism having an accession number NITE P-870 belonging to a genus Lysobacter, or a naturally or artificially mutated microorganism thereof. The microorganism has a capacity of producing the antibiotic having antibacterial activity, and has a base sequence in a 16S rRNA region represented by the sequence number 1 in a sequence list.
