<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupling element capable of attaining miniaturization and cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The optical coupling element 100 includes: a light-emitting element 11 that emits an optical signal; a light-receiving element 21 that receives an optical signal emitted by the light-emitting element 11; and a re-emission member 30 that re-emits light by being irradiated with an optical signal from the light-emitting element 11 and supplies the re-emitted light to the light-receiving element 21.
