1276424 Valves ALLIED CHEMICAL CORP 2 Sept 1970 [18 Nov 1969] 42056/70 Heading F2V A four-way valve for reversing fluid in two conduits 115, 116 comprises an inlet 106, outlet 110 and two pistons 117, 118 connected so that in a first position fluid from the inlet 106 passes to the conduit 116, and fluid from conduit 115 passes to the outlet 110; and in a second position fluid from inlet 106 passes to the conduit 115 whilst fluid from conduit 116 passes to the outlet 110. The two cylinder chambers 102, 103 may be aligned (Fig. 4, not shown) with both pistons mounted on a single piston-rod. The piston-rod is hollow (Fig. 5, not shown) to allow the passage of sealant gas, e.g. steam to a chamber (202) between the piston rings. The same route may be used for corrosion resistant lubricants.
|
