<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately estimate an obstruction position in a water intake pipe of an ocean deep water intake facility. <P>SOLUTION: An obstruction position in an intake pipe is estimated by a result of observing a state of pressure drop over time after temporarily supplying pressurized water into the intake pipe taking into consideration of elastic deformation of the intake pipe.
