<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thinner optical pointing device with high image recognition accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pointing device includes a contact face 11 contacting a subject 10, a light source 16 for irradiating irradiation light to the contact face 11, and optical path conversion elements 22, 32, 52 having a plurality of optical path conversion faces for dividing the reflected light from the contact face 11 into a plurality of optical paths a and b.
