<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device to classify a cell. <P>SOLUTION: A device to classify and orient a sperm cell includes a pair of wall surfaces opposing each other and forming a flow camber having a introduction port, a downstream side introduction port, and an intermediate detection region. The introduction port receives first and second isolated flows by an introduced fluid, and a third flow by a sample fluid containing the cell to be classified. The first and second isolated flows respectively have a flow amount relative to the third flow such that the third flow contracts to form a relatively narrow sample flow and thereby the cell is oriented in parallel to the wall surfaces.
