<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic base material for an exhaust-gas nitrification catalyst, the material improving the corrosion resistance of an SUS430 base material, which is low in cost and stably supplied, and being used without corroding as SUS304. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing the metallic base material for an exhaust-gas nitrification catalyst, the following processes are consecutively carried out to form a corrosion-resistant phosphoric acid compound film on the surface of a base material: (1) the process in which degreasing is made to a belt-shaped metal lath base material, which is obtained by subjecting a belt-shaped ferrite stainless steel plate to metal lath processing, to remove processing oil adhering to the base material; (2) the process in which the base material is dipped in a solution which contains phosphoric acid and a surfactant to make the base material carry the solution on it; (3) the process in which the excessive solution drains away; and (4) the process in which the base material, which carries the solution on it, is dried and heated to make the phosphoric acid react with the base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
