PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium handling device capable of easily obtaining the number of media in a storage part.

SOLUTION: A medium handling device includes: a medium storage part for storing media each having an IC chip and an antenna in a laminating manner; a dispensing part for dispensing the medium stored in the medium storage part to the outside; a stored medium information obtaining part for reading information including a medium identifier previously recorded in the IC chip from the medium stored in the medium storage part; a drive part for moving the stored medium information obtaining part in a medium lamination direction; and a communication part for outputting the information read by the stored medium information obtaining part.
