<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of effectively radiating heat without making a lighting body (for example, an LED lamp substituted for a mercury-lamp) heavier and preventing falling and looseness of the lighting body and surely supporting the lighting body. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device includes a lighting fixture 2 having a base holder 21 formed of a thermally conductive material, the lighting body 1 having a case 13 formed of a thermally conductive material and mounted on the lighting fixture 2, and a support tool 3 for supporting the lighting body 1 on the lighting fixture 2. The support tool 3 includes a lighting body joining section 31 for joining to the surface of the case 13 of the lighting body 1 formed of the thermally conductive material in free heat transmission, a base holder joining section 32 for joining to the base holder 21 in free heat transmission, and a connection section 33 for connecting the lighting body joining section 31 and the base holder joining section 32.
