USE OF ANTI-PROLACTIN AGENT TO TREAT PROLIFERATIVE CONDITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and compositions for inhibiting cell proliferation promoting action of prolactin acting at a prolactin receptor, which can be used for treating benign diseases as well malignant diseases involving unwanted cell proliferation.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to a therapeutic agent for cancers in humans and proliferative diseases including both benign and malignant diseases of breast and prostate diseases of the breast and prostate caused by a human prolactin variant which acts as an antagonist at the prolactin receptor, and a combination therapy by the administration of anti-estrogens and anti-androgens.
