PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface temperature measuring device of a steel member or the like capable of measuring a surface temperature of the steel member from a bottom surface of the steel member stably for a long period even in an environment where a scale peeled off from a steel member to be temperature measured falls.

SOLUTION: A surface temperature measuring device 100 includes: a nozzle1 1 which is disposed facing a bottom surface of a steel member M to be temperature measured and discharges water W from an upper end opening part 11; a radiation thermometer 2 which is disposed in the nozzle so that an optical axis O is almost parallel with a central axis C of the nozzle, and detects thermal radiation light radiated from the bottom surface of the steel member to be temperature measured through water; and an optical window 3 which is disposed at a position through which the optical axis of the radiation thermometer passes in the nozzle and separates the radiation thermometer from water. An upper end surface 31 of the optical window crossing the optical axis of the radiation thermometer is inclined at an angle of 30° or more relative to the horizontal surface.
