<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-voltage discharge lamp reliably and always lit by transmitting heats generated on a coil to a tip of an electrode body to form an arc from the tip of the electrode body when the lamp is started. <P>SOLUTION: The high-voltage discharge lamp comprises a luminous tube, in which sealing parts are formed on both ends of a light-emitting part; and a pair of electrodes opposed to each other along an axial direction in the light-emitting part of the luminous tube. One of a pair of the electrodes has an electrode body comprising a tapered part enlarged in diameter from the tip opposite to the other electrode toward a rear end, and an electrode shaft part extending from the rear end of the tapered part toward the sealing parts; and a coil spirally wound along an outer periphery of the electrode body. A front end deposition part is formed on the coil by depositing a front end adjacent to the other electrode on the outer periphery of the electrode body, and at least one part of the front end deposition part is formed into a tapered part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
