<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer roller manufacturing method capable of obtaining a transfer roller having a stable shape of preventing the change with time. <P>SOLUTION: The transfer roller manufacturing method includes: a bending step S2 of forming a cylindrical roller body by bending a metal plate such that pairs of opposing ends of the metal plate are brought into close contact or abutment; a high friction layer forming step of forming a high friction layer, which makes a transfer power act on the medium to be transferred, on an outer peripheral surface of the roller body; and a first stress regulating step S3 for regulating stress remaining in the roller body by inserting an insert, which has a shape where a straight line connecting a portion of the outer peripheral surface of the roller body with an axial center is larger than the radius of the roller body, inside the roller body whose outer diameter is fixed, prior to the high friction layer forming step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
